Underfloor Heating – The Advantages

Underfloor heating has a number of advantages over the conventional radiator systems and these will be covered below:
Comfort
When it comes to underfloor heating, one advantage is the fact that the whole area of your floor will be getting heated rather than just from the radiator. This means the way the heat cycle is generated is opposite to that of a radiator and thus gives you a consistent temperature in the room and keeps your feet warm.
Aesthetics
Underfloor heating means no radiators, so there is no compromising on design or room layout because of them. This means you can place your furniture and decorations anywhere you like within the room.
Low Maintenance
With underfloor heating, there is not much that can go wrong due to there being no moving parts. This means no regular maintenance cost only needing to be cleaned and cleaning is easy, with them being heated it means after mopping for example they will dry very quickly, leaving you to get on with more important things.
Safety
No pesky radiator sticking out the wall and getting in the way, potentially causing injury or harm to others in the household. No more of that with underfloor heating.
Flexible and Efficient
Underfloor heatings gives you the advantage of being able to control the temperature in each room individually, unlike conventional heating systems of the past which would rely on a single thermostat to instruct them on the temperature needed for the whole building. This means no more wasted energy and in turn money making the system much more efficient than there wall mounted counterparts.
Health
People who suffer from allergies or have an asthma condition will be very happy to know that underfloor heating is not only more efficient than the conventional radiator, it will also generate much less airborne dust, which of course is a great plus is you do have asthma or suffer from allergies.
Like what you have heard and your thinking of investing in some underfloor heating, Cross Electrical has a range available and we are more than happy to help if you want to enquire about any of the products or just want more information on underfloor heating application.

TWIN TURBO MAT - for floor tile heating with 220 W/m²

TWIN TURBO MAT– for floor tile heating with 220 W/m²

2-step heating capacity in one heating mat for high speed heating

Introducing the Twin Turbo Mat a high speed floor heating mat with a reserve heating circuit, the mat has been designed to be more efficient at floor tile heating and has a sleeveless splice and one side termination.

Being particularly thin and with thinner sleeveless splice technology the mat has been designed to be used in old, new and low energy housing as well as renovation work. Installed directly in to the tile glue, the reserve and comfort heating stages are at 110 W /m2 and when both combined for a faster heat up they will be a total of 220 W / m2.

Each of the mats contain a reserve heating cable to ensure the maintained operation of the comfort heating even if one heating circuit was to fail.

Advantages:
·         Heating mat comes with 2 identical heating circuits
·         Possible heating circuit failures won’t result in a cold room
·         Save cost on time, troubleshooting and repair

The Sleeveless Splice
Now with a sleeveless lead to heating cable this means no more of those heat shrink installation problems.  Significantly simplifying work during the installation process.
The splice is self-adhesive and is ideal for installations that are need to be protected from moisture as it is 100% waterproof.
